I've placed mine in a plastic bag for possible testing by a law firm's lab. My local public health department in Tarrant County Texas is useless. They have a recorded message saying contact your doctor.I plan on using Marler Clark's firm in Seattle or a local one that is offering help since I was sick for 4 months (off and on) after eating the Peter Pan #2111 product.

I'd like to know where I can get my jars of peanut butter tested, as I already can confirm from how sick I got on many different occassions over a 2 mont period of time. I didn't go to the hospital, nor did I call off of work at a temp-to-hire job, both for financial reasons. I honestly wanted to die when the illness hit. I spoke with a law firm here in PA, and they want 40% of the settlement which I think is outrageous and unfair. IF they'd eat some of this peanut butter and share the agony with me, then sure, I'll give them nearly half! I bought 5 jars of this stuff, all with the effected codes. I only ate from two of them. What a nightmare. Do I even need an attorney to get in on the class action suit? I'd love to know these answers! THANKS.

I am so glad I found this site. My daughter's (she is 16 years old) doctor confirmed this past Tuesday that my daughter has been slowing poisoning herself since Sept of 06 due to salmonella infested peanut butter I bought 6 of the Peter Pan jars and she has eaten all but 1.5 of the jars. I bought them all at the same time back in September 06 since they were on sale. Since my daughter ate only a small amount every couple of days (a few tablespoons a day on an apple) and since she has been on antibiotics for her skin (cephalxen), our doctor told her that being on antibioltics probably saved her from being deathly ill every time she ate the peanut butter. That is also why our doctor didnt pick up on food poisoning until now. My daughter has been so ill since Sept and we have been thru every testing we could think of. She has gone thru esophogeal tests, stomach tests, allergy tests, extensive blood tests, etc all for nothing. We were just about to send her to a gastrointestinal doctor for the next step to figure out why she has been so sick. She is now on the "drug of choice" for salmonella and should be feeling better in about 7 more days. FINALLY!!! This has been soooo frustrating. She has had some of her teachers give her a hard time about missing school for being sick plus having to catch up every time she missed. She has had the embarrasement of vomitting in school many many times. She has also missed alot of crew (rowing) practices because she just couldnt handle the workouts. At least we now know what the problem is and now she is on her way to recovery! This should never have happened. This poor child has suffered since Sept 06 all because of infected peanut butter.

I just found out today why my 80 yr.old Mother has been sick!!I called her today and she said she had forgotten to tell me she had a jar of the (2111) peanut butter--scared me to death--she has had stomach cramps and diarrhea off an on for a couple of months! I see on the list of states that they can now include Louisiana!!It's a shame you can't go to Wal-Mart an buy a jar of peanut butter and have to worry if it or anything else is safe to eat or not!

All three of my family members got sick. We had it for over a month, not sure what was causing all of these symptoms. We thought it was the flu of some sort. My husband is a diabetic and he was unable to eat. His blood sugars dropped to 20 and I had to call 911. There were voer 14 paramedics in my house trying to revive him. This peanut butter is a scary thing. I want information on the lawsuit as well. I have 2 jars, told by the fDA to keep them in a cool place.
