Natura Pet brands is issuing a massive pet food recall after the FDA found salmonella in one of their products, according to a recording on the company’s community relations phone line. The company has recalled pet food from all of their product lines, including food for dogs, cats, and ferrets.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has expanded a recall on alfalfa sprouts that may contain salmonella.

The recall is for Sunsprout and SproutsAlive brand alfalfa sprouts, which are produced by Sunsprout Natural Foods in Brantford, Ont.

The affected products were sold in Ontario, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador but could be national, the CFIA

Cumberland County Public Health Director Buck Wilson has declared the Salmonella infection outbreak at the Holiday Inn Bordeaux over because there have been no cases with onset after May 15.  The outbreak was first reported on May 14.  The Health Department continues to investigate 103 cases of individuals who experienced symptoms or signs of Salmonella

Sunsprout and SproutsAlive brand alfalfa sprouts, manufactured by Sunsprout Natural Foods in Branford, Ontario are being recalled for possible Salmonella contamination, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

Both CFIA and the Ontario company Wednesday warned consumers not to eat the product that is found in 140-gram containers with a best-before date of June 13.
